The Angkor Wat Temple, Cambodia





Angkor Wat is a sanctuary complex in Cambodia and the biggest religious landmark on the planet. It was initially established as a Hindu sanctuary for the Khmer Empire, steadily changing into a Buddhist sanctuary toward the end of the twelfth century.

Borobudur, or Barabudur, is a ninth century Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. The landmark comprises of nine stacked stages, six square and three round, topped by a focal arch.

The Hindu sanctuary was implicit ninth century and committed to the Trimurti: Brahmā, Vishnu and Shiva. The dividers are all secured with amazing carvings, telling the religious stories .

Shwedagon Pagoda, Yangon, Myanmar



The golden pagoda honors Buddha and rises to a 98 meters height. Among its religious relics are hair from the head of Buddha.

History, Legend has it that there's been a stupa on Singuttara Hill for a long time, following the time when two dealer siblings, Tapussa and Ballika, met the Buddha. He gave them eight of his hairs to take back to Myanmar, an area ruled over by King Okkalapa. Okkalapa cherished the hairs in a sanctuary of gold, together with relics of three previous buddhas, which was then encased in a sanctuary of silver, then one of tin, then copper, then lead, then marble and, at last, one of plain iron-block  . 

The Temple of Heaven, Beijing, China



The beautiful place of Heaven, literally the Altar of Heaven, is a medieval complex of religious buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing.

The Taoist temple was built in 13th century and was visited by the Chinese emperors. The complex and its yard is a favorite spot for meditation and even exercises.
